Boron

Boron

Low in NZ soil, Boron is a trace mineral essential for healthy bones. It is therefore important in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. Research has also shown that boron levels may help with arthritic symptoms. 60 caps

Brand: Radiance

Pack Size: 60 Capsules

Common Uses: The major function of Boron is in the efficient absorption of calcium in the body and its ability to hinder the excretion of magnesium. Taking Boron can increase the blood serum levels of hormones, important for bone metabolism such as estradiol, a precursor of estrogen. It helps prevent the loss of calcium, phosphorus and magnesium through the urine. The availability of boron from the soil is decreasing to very low levels in many areas. Studies indicate that in countries where boron in the soil is lowest there is more arthritis and where there is a higher boron content in the soil there is less arthritis.

Suggested Dosage: Take one capsule daily, preferably with a meal. Do not exceed the stated dose.

Health Information: Boron is an essential trace mineral with many different roles in the body. Boron is known to be lacking in New Zealand and Australian soils. The South Island is particularly low. It is well known that areas throughout the world that are low in boron soil levels experience high rates of arthritis, osteoporosis and hormonal disorders whilst countries with high or adequate levels of boron experience much lower rates of these conditions. Two areas where boron seems particularly important include bone health (including osteoporosis and arthritis), and menopause. Boron supplementation may also assist with Alzheimer's disease, backache, hysterectomy (forced menopause). Research has shown that animals and plants benefit from boron supplementation, and test animals have shown clearly that boron deficiency is a major factor in the development of arthritis. Boron reduces urinary excretion of calcium by 44% and markedly reduces magnesium excretion, especially in postmenopausal women. This is important for maintenance of health bone tissue. It appears that boron also works as a membrane catalyst that permits ATP (cellular energy) to pass through the cell membrane, enhancing the energy available to cells of cartilage or collagen for cell division and regeneration. This, of course, is of great assistance to the tissues of arthritis sufferers, including rheumatoid arthritis. Boron also has an effect on oestrogen levels in the body. 3mg boron supplementation daily has been shown to increase serum levels of oestradiol; this aids in the well-being of postmenopausal women.

Ingredients: One capsule contains: Calcium Borogluconate 72mg (providing 3mg elemental Boron in a base of rice flour). No corn, egg, wheat, yeast, milk or soy.

Safety Information: Keep out of reach of Children.
